Laura Owens’ diversified and continuously inventive practise investigates a wide range of styles and topics in an endeavour to develop painting, one canvas at a time. Although Owens’ art ranges from faux-naf patterns to gridded abstractions, she is always experimenting with new approaches. She has used digital printing and computer manipulations, as well as allusions to needlework, textiles, texts, and lovely patterns. Her works have used doodling, simple craft supplies, humour, and personal themes.
