The landscape is Valentina D’Amaro’s main area of interest. Although the views are carefully and meticulously designed, they do not correspond to any real location. They are a conceptual and artificial interpretation of the concept of landscape. The paintings make an effort to explain the essential characteristics of nature and its underlying structures. As a result, a picture with a fake colour scheme and purposefully flattened proportions and perspectives is created, appearing to be in an other dimension and outside of time.
